RM Social Work Consultancy Ltd was formed in 2019 by Rebecca Marston, allowing Rebecca to specialise in providing Independent Assessment and Social Work Services to Local Authorities, the Courts, solicitors and private clients.
Rebecca qualified as a Social Worker in 2013 from Coventry University. Since 2013, Rebecca has enjoyed undertaking a range of post graduate qualifications, including PGCert in Advanced Professional Practice in Social Work, Foundation level Systemic Practice for Child and Family Social Work & PGCert in Attachment Theory, Research and Practice. Rebecca is currently completing the Chartered Management Institute Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership.
Rebecca is a current Doctoral Candidate on the Professional Doctorate in Social Work, Advanced Practice and Research with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and the University of Essex. Rebecca has a research interest in professional curiosity in high-complexity child protection practice, which is borne from her ongoing professional interest in the prevention of serious harm and child fatalities within family systems.
Rebecca’s practice is grounded in systemic thinking. She is passionate about relationship-based social work practice and utilising a ‘trauma informed’ approach to safeguarding practice. Rebecca has a specialist interest and expertise in attachment, trauma, domestic abuse and systemic social work.
Rebecca's career to date has allowed her to gain solid experience in child and family social work; including extensive experience in a safeguarding context (Care Proceedings, Public Law Outline, Child Protection), working with Looked After Children (Fostering and Family Placements) and Adoption.
Rebecca is an experienced Practice Educator, having supervised and supported 10 Student Social Workers, including students on a work-based learning route to social work qualification. Her experience of non-traditional social work qualification routes has provided Rebecca with experience of social work management, allowing her to share her passion for upholding best practice and social work values, with the next generation of social workers.
